This week I have participated in the creation of a Technology-Based Company (EBT) in the UA on Big Data, giving my support to Lucentia Lab, promoted by professors Juan Carlos Trujillo (founder and main expert), Manuel Marco, Pedro Pernías - all belonging to the Department of Languages and Systems of the UA, with Mario Piattini (*), Manuel Desantes and the University of Alicante itself.
I continue with Steve Blank, another interesting point that he raised at his ESADE conference was about building internal innovation in the company. In Blank's opinion, large conventional companies are less efficient than startups when it comes to promoting disruptive innovations. Invites to act as a startup.
A more up-to-date entry is in: Revitalizing technology-based companies (ETBs) The idea for this entry has been provided to me by the magnificent speech of Professor Senén Barro, former Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, on the occasion of his admission to the Academy of Doctors. His experience leading the Emprendia Network makes his criteria the starting point for any reflection on these issues.
The president of the government Mariano Rajoy has made an important announcement in Asturias: the development of a law that regulates the activity of entrepreneurs and that will simplify many existing regulations. In the latter case, enormous progress can be made by eliminating a series of nonsensical norms, regulations that represent an ineffective and absurd bureaucratic tangle, annoying, instead of an incentive to promote ideas and projects of young entrepreneurs who begin to doubt their commitment before a bureaucratic administrative environment, obsolete and at odds with the rationality and digital efficiency of our time.
It's an interesting debate that Dan Pink raises in this TED video “The Puzzle of motivation” with Spanish subtitles on the motivation of company workers. I recommend it. Apparently companies would be wrong if, once they have set the "correct" remuneration, they try to encourage productivity through bonuses, bonuses, extra payments, etc.
