The first idea that evokes the concept of smart city is the intensive use of technology. From this purely technological aspect, the intelligence of a city would depend on the power of its “central brain”, which must collect, integrate, analyze and process, all in real time, the huge amount of data from the electronic sensors corresponding to the basic municipal infrastructures for water and energy, transport, pollution, waste collection, ... as well as those that are continuously transmitted by its citizens, as mobile sensors, in their interaction with the environment.
